Concept of multimedia
We all know that the most popular digital device is becoming more and more popular as a computer calculator. Data processing and communication were an important part of the computer. This instrument was then widely used for writing.
But to do all this work, in the beginning, only one computer of the computer, namely, used letters. But over time computers have integrated images and words. Moreover, the computer can do programming. Computer multimedia means an interactive experience with a combination of letters, images, and words. Today’s multimedia experience is much richer than in the past. The use of multimedia as a device is not limited to computers but mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, and other digital devices near us are now used to hold and manage multimedia.
Types of multimedia
Linear: Multimedia that is time-dependent is called linear multimedia. Linear multimedia transcends time and continues continuously. In such multimedia users do not get much opportunity to control the text, graphics, etc. For example audio, video, etc.
Non-linear: Multimedia that is not time-dependent is called non-linear multimedia. Non-linear multimedia is also called discrete media. Non-linear multimedia tends to change instantly, not periodically. Such as text or text images etc. There are two types of non-linear multimedia
- Hyper-Media: Hypermedia is mainly used on internet websites. Internet websites offer a huge amount of information so that users can choose a topic according to their needs.
- Interactive Multimedia: The use of interactive multimedia is the most current. This type of multimedia has maximum control of one user. Any picture, video image, or word can be easily controlled as per one’s wish.
Elements of multimedia
Text: All the work of text is now done on computers all over the world. Once done with a typewriter, computers are now being used everywhere from office-court to professional printing.
Images or graphics: All over the world, all the work of creating graphics, editing, etc. is done using a computer. In our country, the use of computers is very limited in the part of fine arts called graphics design, painting, drawing, or commercial graphics. But an exceptional area is printing and publishing. The use of computers in the field of graphics design in print publishing began in the nineties. It starts with editing a scanned image with Photoshop. Computers are gradually taking the place of design and graphics.
Video: Some videos are practically a kind of graphics. It’s better to call it running graphics. Video is a well-established media worldwide. Video is widely used in TV, ham video, multimedia software, web, etc.
Animation: Animation is also a type of graphics or image, but it can be moving or static, it can be two-dimensional or three-dimensional, the use of animation in our country is becoming increasingly widespread. Animation is a favorite subject, especially in advertising images, but cannot work in animation. Animation is never used as a single medium. It has to do with audio, video, text, graphics, etc.
Sound or audio: The whole world now relies on computers for sound or audio recording, editing, etc. The analog method in sound engineering is now virtually completely obsolete. You can do a high-quality sound recording with a computer.
Multimedia can be created using various electronic devices. Such as microphone, video camera, speaker, image editing software, scanner, etc. Multimedia presentations can be shown on stage through a projector or with the help of a media player at home. Broadcasting is a form of multimedia where a program is broadcast locally or live. Broadcast and captured programs can be used in both analog and digital technologies. Digital online multimedia can be downloaded online, or even viewed directly online. The latter method is called streaming media. Streaming media can be captured or live.
Multimedia games can be played individually or through networking online on the Internet or in local area networks. Different formats of multimedia technology have been invented to meet the different needs of users. Also, multimedia is being used in more different ways.
Multimedia class means multi-medium class activities. An attractive multimedia-based class takes three things. Text, graphics or photos, and videos. In such a class, you have to create a slide in PowerPoint with the addition of text, graphics, and sound. Usually, 10 to 20 slides are enough for a class. To take a multimedia class, the classroom must have electricity, 1 laptop, 1 projector, and a white screen or wall.
Developed governments are continuing their efforts to make teachers proficient in this field through ICT training. The welcome, introduction, learning outcomes, etc. displayed on the slides while taking this class cannot be shown in the classroom. Rather the lesson should show up from the announcement to the homework.
All participatory teaching methods apply to multimedia classes. Here also the teacher will divide the time and discuss with the textbook. Show the required images and videos on the screen through the projector. On-screen singles, couples, and group work questions will be raised. Put the sample of the question on the answer slide and show the answer of the students at the end of each task to match their sample answer, not in advance. Ask all questions based on knowledge, understanding, application, and higher skills. Finally, the assessment question can be asked orally. Homework should be highlighted on a slide as a creative question. In the next class, the teacher will submit it and return it to them by providing the number with necessary corrections and instructions. In this way, students will become proficient in writing answers to creative questions.

Hopefully, you’ve learned something new through this article. So, after reading this article, if you have known any new topic, share it with your acquaintances and if you also know any such subject, don’t forget to comment.
